Loop-shaping techniques applied to the least-mean-squares algorithm

چکیده
The least-mean-squares (LMS) algorithm is analysed as a feedback control system. It is shown that despite the fact that LMS is a time-variant system that in fact it behaves much as a linear time-invariant (LTI) closed-loop control system. Therefore, it is possible to treat the LMS algorithm as a control system in the classical sense and define properties such as bandwidth to determine how fast a response (and hence convergence) is maximally possible. Similarly, the steady-state error response to a deterministic noise-free input can also be calculated. Moreover, it is then shown that classical control-based loop-shaping techniques can be used to improve the performance of the algorithm.

Spoofing Mitigation of GPS Receiver using Least Mean Squares-Based Adaptive Filter
The Global Positioning System (GPS) signals are very weak signal over wireless channels, so they are vulnerable to in-band interferences. Therefore, even a low-power interference can easily spoof GPS receivers. Among the variety of GPS signal interference, spoofing is considered as the most dangerous intentional interference. The spoofing effects can mitigate with an appropriate strategy in the...
متن کاملImproving adaptive resolution of analog to digital converters using least squares mean method
This paper presents an adaptive digital resolution improvement method for extrapolating and recursive analog-to-digital converters (ADCs). The presented adaptively enhanced ADC (AE-ADC) digitally estimates the digital equivalent of the input signal by utilizing an adaptive digital filter (ADF). The least mean squares (LMS) algorithm also determines the coefficients of the ADF block. In this sch...
متن کاملLossless Seismic Data Compression using Adaptive Linear Prediction
This paper presents a comparison of adaptive linear pre-dictors as applied to the area of lossless compression of seismic waveform data. Three methods are explored: the normalize least-mean square (NLMS) algorithm, the gradient adaptive lattice (GAL) algorithm, and the recursive least squares lattice (RLSL) algorithm. When compared to standard linear prediction techniques, all three of these me...
متن کاملAnt Colony Algorithm for the Single Loop Routing Problem
In this paper, a new algorithm for solving the single loop routing problem is presented. The purpose of the single loop routing problem(SLRP) is to find the shortest loop for an automated guided vehicle covering at least one edge of each department of a block layout. First it shown that this problem can be represented as a graph model. Then a meta-heuristic algorithm based on and colony system ...
